• The above photo is of Carson, the day he was born, and one of the mares from his herd. He was struggling to find any of them that he could bond and nurse from.
  • Fertility study horses are wild horses (aka mustangs, estrays, Comstock) gathered from the Virginia range in Nevada and were used by the vet school in Nevada/Reno through the Dept of Ag to study various pregnancy prevention products looking for a use to help control wild horses. The grant money ran out, and through a series of events the horses ended up at our ranch - 33 of them. From this group there were 2 aborted foals, 1 stillborn colt, 1 filly (aka Hope) died after 1 week, 2 more fillies that are healthy, and Carson. The stallions have been gelded and are at various locations in Nevada. This is Carson's story...

Carson’s Thank You

carson_thankyou

Carson is free & clear and has turned the corner to a wonderful, healthy life.  We try to let him hang out with many of the horses during the day, but most of the time he has his own agenda.
Although he is socializing with the horses much better, he has also learned to knock on the door when I’m in the house – seriously.  Life is all about Carson right now.  The 24/7 health watch has turned in to a 24/7 keep him out of stuff time!!!

That being said, he wanted to share this with you

Special thanks to Dr Barry for all his care and attention to assure Carson’s recovery

We call the spca , they said that she was fine. It was clear that something was very wrong , green mocus coming from her noise, We watch her but she was eat quite well .. I was told by alot of people she just a native horse , leave it alone, I could not I r=drive out my way to see her alomst daily ,, haley was sweet little girl look to human for help ,, God answed are prayer with a Lady name Deb ,, went to the native own and bought very sick foal ,, Hailey was rounded up and trailer to the vet ,, she had soft and hard cleft palit ,, It was gentic from the mare , and it was so critical that surgery would not save her, the phynoina was server and the milk from her mother was coming back through her noise, she suffer long enough. But this did not stop the abuse to the other horses on the resvation. we are try to get help but her are being persaquated serverly by the community.

  3. GOD BLESS YOU…..LITTLE GUY !!!!!!!
I WAS LOOKING BACK AT SOME EMAILS…..AND ELLIMINATING SOME OF THEM…..NOT THIS ONE…EVER !!!!!
I JUST SPENT TWO WEEKENDS OUT WITH SOME OTHER LITTLE GUYS, CAUGHT UP IN THE FALLON HOLOCAUST. THEY ARE IN STAGECOACH NOW WITH A NON-MATCHED MARE. HER BABY WAS TAKEN BY THE KILLERS, BUT IT APPEARS THAT ONE OF THE LITTLE GUYS IS A CLOSE RELATIVE….BUT, NOT HER IMMEDIATE BABY. UNFORTUNATELY, SHE IS REJECTING THE YOUNGER BOY AND HAS BONDED WITH THE 1 1/2 MONTH OF FOAL. I WISH I COULD TAKE THE LITTLE GUY HOME, AND BRING IN SOME ONE ABOUT HIS AGE TO BOND WITH…..BUT I’M STILL IN THE LV HOTEL WORKING ON GETTING HEALTHY AND BACK TO WORK….
TAKE CARE AND GIVE CARSON….AND THE REST OF YOUR “BABIES” A HUG FOR ME.
